Mercat del Ram de Vic: Livestock tradition meets cutting-edge gastronomy

The Mercat del Ram de Vic has become one of the most relevant gastronomic events of the Catalan Holy Week, where Osona’s livestock tradition merges with culinary innovation.

This year, the market features live cooking shows with local chefs, as well as tastings of craft beers, wines, cheeses, meats, and local charcuterie. The combination of livestock fairs, producer competitions, and a festive atmosphere in the historic streets turns Vic into the capital of taste during these days. It is the perfect opportunity to discover products with history and roots tied to the land, filling your pantry with the best of Osona’s gastronomy. An essential date for any lover of local products and Catalan food and wine culture, which year after year gains prominence as an authentic showcase of everything that makes regional cuisine great.

Dates: From Friday 27 to Sunday 29 March 2026.
Hours: Friday 27: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Sat 28 & Sun 29: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM.

Poboleda Vins 2026: An intimate tasting with winemakers in the heart of Priorat

On Saturday, April 4th, Poboleda hosts one of the most highly-rated wine fairs by connoisseurs, known specifically for its human scale and direct contact with winemakers.

Unlike other more crowded events, here it is possible to talk face-to-face with the person who makes the wine while you taste it—an added value that makes it a unique date. The village’s wineries set up in the Closa area to open their doors to the public during the morning. Poboleda, located in the northern area of the DOQ Priorat, is recognized for its llicorella (slate) wines with a very characteristic freshness thanks to the proximity of the Montsant mountain range. Entrance works with a ticket system that includes a silk-screened glass and tastings, usually priced between €15 and €20. An excellent opportunity to discover the small wineries of Priorat in a close and authentic atmosphere.

Date: Saturday, April 4th, 2026 (Easter Saturday).
Time: From 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM (approximately).
Location: Carrer de la Closa and surroundings, Poboleda.
Web: www.doqpriorat.org

After tasting wines with the makers, complete your Priorat experience with the creative cuisine of Restaurant Brots: the perfect pairing between the products of the land and haute cuisine in Poboleda.

Harp & Vines: Chamber music and wine in the Albera Massif

The Harp & Vines activity, part of the Vívid festival, transforms a wine tasting into a synesthetic experience at the Massís de l’Albera winery in Vilamaniscle.

The highlight is the sensory pairing: the frequencies of Abigail Rius’s harp modify the perception of the wine’s acidity and sweetness, creating a unique emotional connection between music and territory. In this Albera setting, the tramuntana wind and the slate soil shape wines with untamed character—local Garnatxas and Carinyenes—that are elevated and softened by classical notes. Tasting them while the vibrations of the strings resonate among the vines allows you to understand wine not just as a product, but as a state of mind linked to the landscape. A meditative and sensory pause where the silence of the massif is only broken by musical harmony and the opening of bottles that reflect heroic and resilient viticulture. A luxury experience for the senses for €22, all-inclusive.

Date: Saturday, April 4th, 2026 | 11:30 AM (Duration: 1h 30 min).
Location: Celler Massís de l’Albera, Vilamaniscle (Alt Empordà).
Price: €22 (Concert + 3-wine tasting + local appetizer).
Web: vivid.costabrava.org/activitat/arpa-i-vinyes

Just 10 minutes from Vilamaniscle, Cal Batlle in Garriguella is the perfect lunch stop after the Vívid activity. We recommend booking a table to enjoy one of the best rice dishes in the area or its famous cod in a cozy and familiar atmosphere.

Altavins Batea: Grills, Garnatxa, and sunset in Terra Alta

The Altavins winery in Batea proposes a complete agenda for Holy Week 2026, with three distinct experiences.

The star is Vins & Brasa (April 3rd, 4th, and 5th), a community lunch that combines the winery’s wines with a local grilled menu: lamb, chorizo, longaniza, rice sausage, and “pastor” sausage, preceded by an appetizer with local oil and tuna belly, and accompanied by water, wine, bread, alioli, and coffee. The definition of slow food in a winery setting. On April 2nd, the “Garnatxa Route” takes visitors to the “Trufes” estate to discover Garnatxa Peluda directly in the vineyard where it grows. Finally, on the afternoon of April 4th, the Sunset Sessions transform the terrace into a relaxed space with electronic music and panoramic views over the landscapes of Batea. Very limited spots: booking is essential.

Dates: Vins & Brasa: April 3-5 | Garnatxa Route: April 2 | Sunset Sessions: April 4.
Location: Carrer de la Vall de l’Algars, 1, Batea.

Your route through Batea isn’t complete without a stop at Restaurant Miravall, a local culinary benchmark. Complete your Holy Week getaway with a stay at Casa Piñol: a charming rural house linked to one of the most historic wineries in the area.

Passion Wine of Vilalba dels Arcs: Mysticism and amphorae in the heart of Terra Alta

The Passion Wine of Vilalba dels Arcs is probably the most mystical and unique wine tourism experience in Catalonia during Holy Week.

The central moment is the Opening of the Amphorae at Casal Rossinyol: a ritual where clay jars that have guarded the wine for months underground are extracted from the Confraria’s crypt. Without stainless steel or modern wood, this ancestral method offers wines with controlled oxidation, earthy aromas, and a purity that transports you directly to antiquity. The guided tasting “Women, Wine, and Rural Life” proposes a pairing of contrasts between this amphora wine and “Km 0” products from Terra Alta: extra virgin empeltre olive oil and artisanal cheeses. It all takes place in a village that, for a few hours, becomes a living stage for the Passion, where the smell of wine blends with the fire of the torches and the heritage of the manor houses. Very limited capacity: booking essential at €20.

Date: Saturday, April 4th, 2026 | Amphora opening: 11:00 AM | Street fair: 12:00–2:00 PM & 6:00–10:00 PM.
Location: Casal Rossinyol and old town, Vilalba dels Arcs (Terra Alta).
Web: www.passiovilalba.com
Price: €20 (Access to the event + paired tasting).

For a great stay in Vilalba, our recommendation is Nou Moderno. Enjoy the best local products cooked with passion in an atmosphere that breathes the essence of Terra Alta: the ideal complement to your wine tourism day.
